Villa Maderni, located in the historical core of Riva S. Vitale was built around 1750.
Since 1992 it is a property of Virginia Tech Foundation: the "Virginia Tech Steger Center for International Scholarship", campus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg (US/Virginia).
The complex of buildings is integrated in a nice articulated garden and faces directly to the main street, Via Settala.

The project consists in the renovation of some  spaces and in the reinforcement of the structural old elements. The design aims to be non - invasive, respecting the pre - existence, but at the same time visible and innovative. Innovation is placed side by side with tradition, to complement each other.
