The projects consists complete renovation of an apartment in a residential block in Morcote. The old apartment was a sequence of small spaces, with a complex geometry; we simplified the design, placing all services (kitchen and two bathrooms) within a rectangular volume. It was therefore possible to organize the rest of the program (living, dining and bedroom) in an open lofty space, enhancing the condition of “mansard” thanks to open stairways and bedroom balcony.

Diffusion and control of natural light is an important theme of this project, controlled both by windows and skylight. The various nuances of white, light and shadows, are enhanced by the choice of a consisted white tone for walls, fitting and furniture, creating a delicate a sophisticated atmosphere.
